Get Accepted by a Designated Learning Institution (DLI):

Before applying for a study permit, you must be accepted by a Canadian educational institution designated by the government.

Gather Required Documents:
Passport or travel document
Letter of acceptance from the DLI
Proof of sufficient funds to cover tuition fees, living expenses, and return transportation
Police clearance certificate (if required)
Medical exam results (if required)
Biometrics (fingerprints and photo) may also be required

Apply Online or by Paper:
Most applicants apply online through the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website. You'll need to create an account and follow the instructions to complete the application form.
Alternatively, you can apply by paper by downloading the application package from the IRCC website and submitting it by mail or in person at the nearest Visa Application Centre (VAC).

Pay the Application Fee:
Pay the non-refundable application fee online or by bank draft, money order, or certified cheque if applying by paper.

Submit Biometrics (if Required):
If biometrics are required, you'll need to visit a designated location to provide your fingerprints and photo.

Attend an Interview (if Required):
Depending on your country of residence, you may be required to attend an interview at the Canadian visa office.

Wait for Processing:
Once you've submitted your application, wait for processing. Processing times vary depending on your country of residence and the time of year.

Receive Decision:
If your application is approved, you'll receive a letter of introduction confirming your study permit. Bring this letter with you when you travel to Canada. If your application is refused, you'll receive a letter explaining the reasons for the refusal.
